Household Biogas: Incentive Payments

Anithakumari farms a small plot in rural Andhra Pradesh, and last week she did something new: she picked up her phone and sent us six photos.

They showed the everyday work most people never see. How she manages the manure. Cooking with biogas. The bioslurry that can be used on her crops.

A few weeks ago, we started sending farmers a simple WhatsApp message, inviting them to show us how they use their biodigester. Submit a photo, and once it's approved, a small cash reward goes straight to the farmer. It runs in English, Hindi and Telugu, so farmers can use whichever language they feel most comfortable with.

Anithakumari is one of the first to complete the whole flow. Six photos in, approved, and her incentive payment is on its way to her.

It's a small amount of money. But it lands directly in her hands, for work she was already doing well. That's the part we care about.
